Granny's Special Chocolate Cake

Yum ... this scrumptious treat, made by my wonderful granny Nick, is perfect with everything. When I had it last night with homemade ice cream and Texas peaches, it was especially delicious! Just the way it was served with the fruit made me feel warm and cozy even though it is one of the coldest treats. But there was one problem... THE RECIPE IS TOP SECRET!! As much as I want to tell you, and as much as you want to know, I can't. So get over any high hopes that you had because you're not squeezing the recipe out of my dear granny Nick. Now it is time to go, so catch me next time when i blog about some more treats! Chow!

On the Border: Ugh!

On the Border (I-635 and MacArthur) was terrible, and here’s why...
The Waitress was slow, the food was stuck to the plate, there was green stuff on my fork, the chips were stale and looked like they were cooked yesterday, and there were small drinks.
It looked like they worked harder on making the place look good then making the food taste good. It was a disaster!
What we ordered was fajitas. What we got, muck stuck on a plate. It was so gross! My dad ordered enchiladas. They had almost no taste! But he ate it anyway.
Baby James got the best thing on the menu…Nothing. He is so lucky.
We promised each other that we would NEVER go to On the Border again. Instead, we are going to Mi Cocina…. DUH what were we thinking?!?!

Sonic Slush: Pretty good for a hot day

A great summer way to cool off is to cruise down to a nearby Sonic and try their lemon berry fruit slushy. I did that today and thought the service was great! All you have to do is pull up into an ordering slot and order what you want.As soon as we got our money out the waitress was outside our car window with my drink.

This was great for an on-the-go family like mine. With a 4 month old baby, your mom is not in the mood to get out of the car.

I give the convenience and service an A+, but the actual slushy not so much.

The slushy had too much berry flavor and not not enough lemon. If the slushy had more lemon, the slushy would taste less sweet. I am a tart person,so to much berry is not up my alley.

The squishy chilled strawberries were not my favorite either. When they unexpectedly sucked up my straw and into my mouth I felt like spitting them right out.

I also felt as if the slushy had been pre-made before I got there because it was a little melted and watery.I am being a picky critic, but if you are not being very picky it was pretty good.

Kid Kritic

Girls:

Welcome to your blog. Here is your assignment. By the end of this week, each of you should review one restaurant in Colleyville. Then, write a one-page review and turn it in to Dad. Then, we will work on posting your reviews and adding photos.

Have fun! I can't wait to see what you come up with.

Love,

Daddy
